QUT CS:GO Orange team earned a hard fought victory at the AEL CS:GO University cup, defeating Monash university’s team in a close 2-1 game. The Australian Esports League (AEL) was established in 2013 and since then has been responsible for hosting a number of ESports competitions, with such including Nintendo’s first AUNZ Regional Championship in 2017. These competitions were featured at live events which attract hundreds of competitors, as well as online events. AEL’s most recent competition was the AEL University Cup for CS:GO and Rocket League. Approximately 24 teams entered into the AEL CS:GO University Cup with the winner to receive $2000 and rights of holding onto the AEL University Cup. QUT CS:GO Orange went on to win this competitions in a nail bitting finale, closely defeating Monash University in a 2-1 Game. The QUT CS:GO Orange team was made up of five members: Jabba, jayzw0w, Ayrez, Sim and Burk. With Jabba and Ayrez being the teams main awpers and jayzw0w, Sim and Burk being the team’s riflers.
